BP is the former British Petroleum and is involved in several countries in promoting extreme extraction ventures around tar sands bitumen. Already under the microscope for their investments in Alberta Canada, BP has driven ahead with international extreme extraction plans despite international outcry following the Deepwater Horizon platform explosion and resulting huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
